CPO. Adam Brown
Navy • SEAL Team Six, Operator • 1974–2010 • Post-9/11
Chief Petty Officer Adam Lee Brown was born on February 5, 1974, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Raised in a Christian home, Adam was known for his athleticism, adventurous spirit, and deep compassion. But his path to becoming a Navy SEAL was anything but easy.
After battling addiction and personal demons in his youth, Adam found redemption through faith and service. In 1998, he joined the U.S. Navy and earned his SEAL Trident in 1999 — a symbol of elite warrior status. He later became a member of SEAL Team SIX, the Navy’s most elite counter-terrorism unit.

Fearless Until the End

Adam deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan, earning the Silver Star, Bronze Star with Valor, and Purple Heart for acts of extraordinary bravery. In one mission, he exposed himself to enemy fire to rescue a wounded teammate. In another, he led a daring raid under heavy fire.
On March 17, 2010, during a nighttime operation in Komar Province, Afghanistan, Adam’s team was pinned down by enemy fire. Without hesitation, he charged forward to draw fire away from his brothers. His actions saved lives — but cost him his own. He died a warrior’s death, protecting his team.
Adam was more than a soldier. He was a devoted husband to Kelley and a loving father of two. His faith anchored him, and his story — told in the book Fearless by Eric Blehm — continues to inspire those facing adversity.
“He fell protecting his teammates. Adam died a hero.” — Fellow SEAL
